When Seven Seas opened in 1987, the general perception was that Chinese food consisted mainly of dishes like General Tso’s chicken and spring rolls. Owners Edward and Corinna Shen were eager to change that image and introduce authentic Chinese cuisine.
One of the very first and best fresh Chinese seafood restaurants in the Washington Metropolitan area, our restaurant has been a hidden treasure in Rockville since 1987.
The restaurant specializes in award-winning, authentic seafood dishes that have earned us a reputation as one of the finest seafood restaurants. Seven Seas takes pride in serving live catch purchased from reputable suppliers. We lay claim to serving the freshest seafood in Rockville, as the catch is stored in our in-house marine tanks right until a guest orders them. From flavorful braised tilapia with garlic to a sumptuous lobster dinner with ginger and scallion, nothing enhances these house specialties like preparing them with fresh ingredients.
*It is a custom in fine-dining Chinese restaurants for guests to be shown live seafood as proof of freshness before cooking the meal. But rest assured, you can opt to skip this step.
